| BUBBLER AERATOR SOLAR vs. LINE POWER COST CONSIDERATIONS |
||||||||||||||
| Installation Costs It will take 10 of our solar powered units to replace one of our line power units. Even so, the installation costs of running line power to our line power SA-80 in open water applications is around $100/ft when meeting local electrical codes ($200/ft if buried and submersible electical cable are required). This does not include the costs of concrete slab mounted electrical distribution panels or junction boxes. Ten of our solar bubbler units are still cheaper to install. First, they are self-contained and mount easily on any standard 2x6 board secured to a tree or post for under $50.00/unit. This includes acquisition of a plastic battery box, anti-theft battery cablelock, and 12 volt car battery from the local hardware store. Maintenance Costs Independent of power and safety considerations, compressed air type bubbler aeration has half the maintenance costs of any type of mechanical aeration in open water applications. Both our solar and line power units offer replaceable linear diaphragm type compressors that are permanently lubricated. Basically the maintenance costs are equal. Safety The safety and liability considerations of line power to water alone suggest you should you restrict public access. If public access is not restricted we DO NOT recommend you consider line power for unattended water aeration. The safety and liability considerations of the solar bubbler focus on and are listed on the battery you purchase locally. |
