| ALL OUR SOLAR AERATORS USE ONE OR MORE PEC 45 PUMPS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Use only new or fully charged batteries. Each PEC-45 pump needs 0.6 amps input hr from a 12 volt marine type battery or gel type 12 volt battery. Click here to determine type and number of batteries needed vs. backup power desired. Any 12 volt battery will work, however, using an old or discharged battery reduces pump airflow. Units are designed with 20 ft. of air hose. Increasing the length of hose is possible but costly from an energy standpoint.. Every 3 foot of increased hose length or 1 inch of diffuser depth drains battery back-up power and cuts airflow by approx. 1%. 2. With a new battery installed, the green LED light on the solar charge controller inside the pump box should be glowing and the pumps operating. If not, replace the fuse located inside the black fuse holder on the positive battery cable or in the pump house. 3. Check for kinks or disconnected air hoses. Animals can chew holes in unprotected airhose. If chew holes are evident cut tubing and couple back together. Place all exposed airhose inside a gardenhose or PVC pipe for protection from animals. 4. Make sure the solar panel is facing south in the direct sunlight with NO OBSTRUCTIONS, ie: yourself, passing cars, grazing animals, tree limbs, buildings, etc. 5. GO ONLINE TO SEE AN OPERATIONAL VIDEO OF THE PEC 45 PUMP IN PROPER OPERATION . THE DIAPHRAGMS SHOULD EXPAND AS SHOWN WHEN THE AIRLINE IS PINCHED CLOSED. THIS IS THE STANDARD TEST METHOD FOR DETERMINING IF THE PUMP IS OPERATING PROPERLY. 6. IF DIAPHRAMS DO NOT EXPAND AS SHOWN IN THE VIDEO CLIP ABOVE, EITHER YOU DO NOT HAVE A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY HOOKED UP, OR THE AIRLINE HAS A LEAK OR THE DIAPHRAGMS NEED TO BE REPLACED OR ADJUST PUMP SPEED BY CLICKING HERE AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. |

This allows you to directly change the amount of energy used. Lower settings mean less air, more stored energy, less downtime, and less sun needed to operate 24/7. Deeper diffuser submergence means less air flow, more sun needed, and additional batteries needed to operate 24/7. Use our floating draft tube to fix diffuser submergence, maximize mixing/oxygen transfer, and insure 24/7 operation with minimum sun and lower storage battery requirements. |
