EKBS-20 Aeration Kit Instructions

STOP:  DO NOT PROCEED WITHOUT USING BATTERY HOOK-UP INSTRUCTIONS. ADDITIONAL BATTERY BANKS ARE ALLOWED IF PROPERLY CONNECTED.

S-20 Aeration Technical Data : Maximum 1/2 acre pond for each aerator installed. For  1 acre pond 2 aerators are required. Aerator: Aerator air tubing length  20 feet with diffuser. Longer lengths reduce airflow and reduce backup power. Pump box  height 18 inches. Pump box length 14 inches Total weight 52 lbs. (without battery) Air Compressors = 6 = (0.5 cfm) Solar Panel:  60 watts Drive: Motor:  AC,  0.5  amp Footprint: 60"x48"x30" Battery: Requires two 12 volt, 40-75 Ah, batteries,  for 24/7 operation (not included).  A third battery may be needed for 24/7 operation backup.

1.) Panel  and Diffuser Mount Assembly: STOP: UNIT MUST BE LOCATED IN A WELL DRAINED AREA. FLOODING WILL DESTROY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS & VOID YOUR WARRANTY.. 2.)  Assemble panel mounts and attach solar panels so that they face, unobstructed, to the to south.  (see instr. booklet)

3.) Attach  solar panel cables to PLUG-IN connectors on pump box.  Pumps should operate immediately in direct sun  (if  not see troubleshooting manual).

4.) Use self-tapping screws OR locking nylon straps provided to attach  pump box to  panel mount tubes at upper and lower point as shown so air hose barb and drain holes face down.

WARRANTY

5.)  Attach  battery cables to pump box and connect battery (batteries not  provided). Depress toggle switch on battery harness and insure green LED is lit.  Replace fuse if green LED not lit by unplugging then unscrewing tip of connector switch as shown.

One year warranty on all parts. PEC will repair/replace at its option. The seller will not be held responsible for any accidents that may occur while work is carried out by others. We also exclude liability for direct or indirect damage or loses. No warranty is made as to the suitability or merchantability of the unit for your application.

6.) Connect aeration tubing to pump box nylon air outlet barb.  Place battery boxes under panel. NOTE SAFETY : Solar panel mount  must be secured to in-ground  anchors to prevent wind damage (anchors not provided).

TROUBLESHOOTING

If pumps are not operating open pump box top silver screws. Examine solar controller and see that charging  LED is lit when direct sun is available and nothing is blocking the sun.

7.) Place draft tube in water and secure.                 IMPORTANT: Anchor draft tube  in place with line provided. Tie to one top float metal hasp and then to opposite shore OR to bottom mounted sandbags, rocks, or plastic coated weight  provided.

Examine all tubing is not kinked and all tube connections are secure.
