PEC Solar Powered

Floating Lateral Air Lift Reactor System
Very high mixing rate studies with Air Lift Reactors (ALRs) are well documented.

PEC floating lateral aeration airlift diffuser systems are designed on a case by case basis and have many benefits.
Our airlift diffusers allow very low power consumption while providing very high mixing rates.
Very low power consumption allows for independent pump/diffuser arrangements and continuous aeration at 0 to 36 feet deep (yes, thats correct, our system is designed to operate in-situ, even when the basin goes dry), while maintaining a  2 year pump, 5 year diffuser, and 20 year prorated solar panel  warranty.
A major benefit of very low power consumption is very low capital cost. Another major benefit includes ease of installation with no need to drain, dredge,  or disturb basins.

Lagoon and earthen basin type aeration basins are particularly well suited for application of floating lateral airlift diffuser components.

PEC floating lateral airlift diffuser systems allow for continuous facilities operation with quick installation.  Other benefits of a floating lateral airlift diffuser system include simple setup, easy access, and a  low cost of ownership.

Technical data for basins 0-36 feet deep with airlift diffuser draft tubes:

1. Flexible diffuser air supply piping , up to 25 feet in length,  is designed to float on the liquid surface.

2. Diffuser units are hung at a constant distance below the floating air piping
system.  Each individual diffuser is supported by a PEC 45 air pump.  This design provides uniform pressure to multiple diffuser units for proper air distribution.

3. The floating airlift lateral (piping) system and integral diffuser support floats provide buoyancy and structural support to maintain diffusers at their proper position.

4. Diffuser units are floated above the basin bottom at up to six (6) distribution sites per individual EKBS-20 Solar Aerator.

5. Diffuser units that are suspended are particularly attractive because they allow installation into existing basins, which are filled with water and/or sludge.
Wet installation is a particular benefit of our PEC floating lateral airlift diffuser system.

6. Floating diffusers are installed at a fixed distance below the liquid surface to produce uniform pressure throughout the system and allow proper air distribution even if the floor of the basin has a major variation in elevation or structural capacity.

7. The floating aeration system allows 100% access to all components without
dewatering the basin and without taking the process out of service. Only our PEC floating lateral air diffuser system allows this flexibility of installation and/or operation.
AIR DIFFUSERS USED ARE  NONPLUGGING, BACK FLOW PREVENTING, ELASTOMER MEMBRANE TYPE.
POPULAR IN SEWAGE AERATION BASIN APPLICATIONS.
SUPPLY PIPING  REQUIRES USE OF
NON-WEIGHTED FLEXIBLE AIRLINE SUITABLE FOR STRUCTURAL SUPPORT OF UP TO 6 LINKED TUBE FLOATS.
DRAFT TUBE  BUOYANCY  REQUIRES USE OF
INFLATABLE  WHITE TUBE FLOATS AS SHOWN.
BUOYANCY  CAN BE PROVIDED BY FAUX FLOATING ROCKS PURCHASED SEPERATELY.
AIR HOSES AND DRAFT TUBES ARE BOTTOM  ANCHORED WITH BRICKS OR SUPPLIED WEIGHTS.
