1.)The steel dock bubbler box should be hung on a 2x6 board and secured to it with two screws.  The plastic diffuser should be placed in the pond where you wish the water to be kept open 2.) The unit should be plugged directly into a 110 volt circuit with a ground fault interupter (GFI). 3.)Inspect unit and remove external debris daily.  The only part that requires maintenance in this system is the diaphragm.  If you notice the pump making a banging noise or that bubbles are getting weaker you probably need to replace the diaphragms.
